I work at a highschool that has department laptops, MacBooks.

I'm trying to add a local user account that the teachers can use to take the MacBook offline and use at home. They need to be able to administer the printers and network preferences, but they are locked and need admin privledges to use.

I've tried unlocking them and logging out as admin. I've tried giving the user access to all the preference pances through the Accounts > Parental Controls pane.

Can anyone tell me why I can't permanently unlock the Preferences for a certain user?

Thanks!
