I run 10.4.9 on a MacPro (intel !)

most of my apps are intel, then this button manager appears in Avtivity Monitor and Id like to know what it is.

that being said Im running two PPC apps: Thoth and Ticker.

It waits for one of the buttons pressed on your Canon scanner. Just trash it. Who uses these buttons anyway? The version for my Canon scanner also used to spam the console which prevented sleep and created giant log files. Another reason to get rid off it.

I do use a canon scanner from time to time. does it re-insert this each time?

It would unless you tracked down where it's being launched from and trash the file.

The scanner works without the button manager, just the buttons on it don't work any more. I found them useless and the button manager annoying, so I trashed it.
