I want to be able to right click groups of files and have the ability to send them to a specific directory.

Is there an easy way to create a contextual menu item for that, are they just shell scripts, or there's a utility for doing this?

That's easy to do in "Automator".

In Automator select the Finder workflow things in the library and drag the "Move Finder items" thing into the workflow area. Change the "To:" popup in this workflow item to the folder you want your stuff moved to, then select "Save as Plug-In" in the File menu, give it a name and choose "Finder" as the plug-in type.
