Have the mac os 10.4 server with a static ip which is bound to our active directory.

The windows 2003 server give out all the dhcp info not the osx server.

we have netboot configured on the mac server with 2 images. one image using http and the other nfs

When we boot the mac book holding the N button all we get is the flashing globe and nothing after that.

what and where did i go wrong?
dhcp is disabled on the mac server.
the mac book gets dhcp info from the 2k3 server when it boots into osx

i guess i dont know where to look next. im new in the mac server world.

Thanks
Chuck

You still have to have the DHCP service running on OS X Server for NetBoot to work. You don't have to configure a DHCP pool, but you have to have the service running. The BSDP protocol that NetBoot uses is a subset of DHCP and, therefore, requires the DHCP service to be turned on.

i enabled dhcp on the mac server. still get the blinking globe on the client.

in dhcp on the mac server do i need to configure a default subnet and all that information and just not check it.

right now i have nothing listed just the service started.
Thanks
Chuck
