Currently using 10.4.7 and was content to wait for Leopard in the spring. Now that Leopard isn't coming out until at least October I'm considering upgrading to 10.4.9 so that I can upgrade to Toast 8.0.1 which requires 10.4.8.
I've seen lots of issues reported with 10.4.8 and 10.4.9. What are the most likely issues I'll face if I decide to upgrade? I'll be upgrading a MDD G4.
Thanks,
Doug

Same. 10.4.9 and 10.4.8 worked for me with no problems.

Like dimmer, I too have had no problems with 10.4.8 and 10.4.9.
On the other hand Douglshh, you will see many more negative posts at forums like MacNN and MacFixit than you will see positive posts. That's natural - the majority of people only post when things go wrong with their systems after an upgrade- if not before!
If you have carried out regular maintenance (repairing disk permissions, clearing caches etc, etc) and your system is in good health and running well, then you will most certainly have no problems with any upgrade. A good tip is to download the combo version of 10.4.9 straight from the Apple site, that way you will eliminate any potential problems you may have if you use Software Update.
Get it done Douglashh, get it done!!

Went for it, completed the update without issue, everything fine.
First I ran TechToolPro, then Disk Utility and finally Cocktail to delete all cashe files. Disconnected FW HD and proceeded with the update.
Thanks to all for positive comments
