Dear All,

I am trying to format a partition using disk utility of the mac os x install CD. I want a FAT 32 drive, so I can share data (media files) on it between OS X and XP on my Macbook. I understand that I need to erase the partition after creating to format it and choose "MS DOS" file system (FAT 32).

Disk Utility give me three options:
* MS DOS
* Case Sensitive MS DOS
* Case Sensitive and Journaled MS DOS

What are the differences between these file systems, and which would you recommend.

Thank you

Format it plain ol' MS-DOS.

For future reference, there is no such thing as case sensitive MS-DOS and case sensitive and journaled MS-DOS.
Signature depreciated.

Yeah, there's only MS-DOS. I think you must have skimmed and read "Mac OS" as "MS DOS," because there are "Mac OS (Case-Sensitive)" and "Mac OS (Journaled)" options available.
