After upgrading two Intel iMacs (one brand new 24", one a 20" I have been using without trouble)-
I have had multiple multiple crashes of both Apple apps (Motion, latest version) and non Apple apps (Flash etc)-

Many apps will not launch files I have just saved and am actively working on, other apps crash when launching-
Motion and Compressor are not getting along well (crash when send to COMpressor for export almost without fail) etc-

Flash version 9.x simply will NOT launch- I believe I was running it in Rosetta before-

Motion is now unreliable- saving an acitve Motion project- then coming back a few hours later and it will nno longer open and I cannot work whatsoever-

Is anyone else having these difficulties?

I have sent numberous reports to Apple upon crash- hoping they will get this addressed ASAP-

Scott

Were you using the machines during the update process?

It's posted in the forums somewhere (not sure where) that using some applications during the update process can cause trouble.

First thing to try is repairing disk permissions; that seems to be a starting point for most Mac troubleshooting.

If that doesn't work, try an archive and reinstall with saving the user settings. After that, run the updater to get all updates without running or starting any of our applications during the process.

Good luck!

I was installing Final Cut Studio while downloading several recommended software updates (and they were installing)-

I will do the old repair disk permissions tonight-

Do wish me luck!
