Hi there,
I would appreciate some advice here because I am not too sure of my facts.
I have never used OS 9 'Classic' and I never will, therefore can I safely delete it from 'Tiger' 10.4.9 without screwing up the system?
When I bought my 15" PowerBook three years ago it was supplied with OS X 'Panther' 10.3.7 discs but I upgraded to OS X 'Tiger' when it first became available.
I still use 'Panther' 10.3.9 on my G4 iMac, although in an effort to free up disc space I tried deleting 'Classic' some time ago but I found that I had to re-install it in order for certain apps and some aspects of the 10.3.9 system to function properly.
So to repeat myself, does 'Tiger' 10.4.9 need 'Classic' at all - and if not, can I safely delete it?
All knowledge and help is, as usual, gratefully received!
Thanks,
voicebox

10.3.9 didn't need it either, but apparently you have some apps that need it. It has never been required except for running Classic.

Thanks kick52 and Chuckit for your input, I just needed a confidence boosting second opinion!
I took the bull by the horns and trashed the contents of the 'Classic' folder first, then I restarted. After which I trashed the OS 9 Applications folder - the empty 'Classic' folder then disappeared as well - I restarted and all is well.
Thanks again for your help.
