1. In expose, when i press the button to show all windows for a certain app, it show all of the windows for all apps. i even tried to change the preference in system preferences.

2. In the dock, when i right click and choose an action, such as exit i need to press it, then right click and press the action again. so i have to press it twice before it responds.

Can any of u guys help me?
thanx in advance.

I could swear that I posted a response to this last night, but I do not see it. Maybe I posted it elsewhere or it didn't stick when I posted it...

for #1, try experimenting with F9 through F11. I think you are hitting the wrong button for what you want to do.

for #2, after you right-click on the dock item, are you LEFT-clicking to choose the action? The left-click should select the action. If you have a Mighty Mouse, be sure that only your left finger clicks the button or else the sensor might get confused and register a right-click.

#1. yes i am pretty sure. say i have 2 apps open. and i wanna see the windows for only one of the apps. it won't allow me anymore.

#2. yes i am left clicking. i don't have mighty mouse. actually, right clicking works. i only have to click it once if i right click. but if i wanna use left click, which is more practical, i need to pull up the menu twice.

thanx for the feedback.

Try deleting the com.apple.dock.plist file from the ~/Library/Preferences folder. This will reset your Dock back to its default status. (You might want to write down the icons you have in your Dock or take a screen grab first, so that you can restore it to the same state afterwards).

I have this exact same problem. I managed to rectify it by creating a new account in OSX. Now does anyone have a clue what is causing this and how to migrate the solution to my old user account from the working freshly created?

Do you use adium? Have read a rumour that adium might have something to do with it. It would be nice to find a source of the problem.

edit:
I have tried to move all contents from Library/Preferences in the new working account into the old problem account, chmoding and such included, without success. It seems the problem is not in the preference files.

solved:
After a couple of hours I have managed to identify the culprit at hand. I use Airfoil and Airfoil uses Application Enhancer (Instant Hijack Server). If you delete userAc/Library/Application Enhancers/menufela.ape or Zap! Application Enhancer all together this issue disappears. Luckily Airfoil is functional without the Hijack server.
