I just removed the Pantone Huey software, which belonged to the defunct calibration tool.

What I cannot remove is the symbol in the upper right corner, next to the volume level and the airport symbols.

I searched in preferences, but could not find anything.

I removed all software leftovers through the finder.

How can I remove this symbol (which has kicked the quick access for the keyboard off the pane).

Thanks.

hold the command key down and drag the icon out of the menubar.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work.

With or without the command button pressed, the moment I click on the symbol, the dropdown menu opens. (all the software is removed, this is the only leftover).

I tried the same thing with the control button. Doesn't work, either.

then use spotlight to search for the programs name and delete any related files.

i had done that, and it had stayed. And now, hours later, it just disappeared.

Maybe it was a ghost symbol, the haunting rest of a piece of deleted software.

There was a direct access to keyboard controls up there.

How can I get it back? I can't find any command section in preferences?

If you mean what I think you mean look at System Preferences>International>Input Menu:

"Show input menu in the menu bar".

That was it! Thanks!
