So here's the setup:

I have a secondary machine that I rent out sometimes for work- maybe a couple days a month, sometimes up to 14, but usually just 3-5 days or so.

So when that machine is at the house, it's built up and is my wife's computer to use. But when I'm away with the machine, she needs to use another machine, my office computer.

So what would the best way be to set it up to either copy/move her user account back and forth between computers- or, can I host her user account on my office machine (which is always at home, and always on) so when she logins in everything appears as if it's hosted locally, but when I'm away she can log in and just use her account normally off the office machine?

I'm thinking it sounds like a need for OS X Server.... but I'm wondering if there is a better solution, or at least one that's not so much like swatting at a gnat with a machinegun.

What I've done twice, is just to use Chronosync to copy her user back and forth over the network. It seemed to work ok, but I'm just worried that doing it this way is going to cause some sort of a problem down the road (I don't know what).

Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for your time!
