Right , so I went to rule the Illustrator CS3 trial a while ago and I found out I needed a newer version of OSX for it to work. Well, no problem, so I go to download 10.4.9 and intall, which is great, except i cant. I get an error saying "Cannot be installed on this volume, this volume does not meet the specified requirments".

The thing is, I used apples official PPC version and I have an imac g4. The volume was my hard drive with 25 gb left on it. So, can anyone tell me the problem, is my g4 really that big of a POS. I have never had problems updating before this.

Do you already have some version of 10.4? Or are you still on Panther (10.3)?

Assuming you have 10.4.x already, also make sure you ave the right updater. There's a PPC one for both Server and Client. Better yet just get it from Software Update to ensure you get the right one.

Ny software update utility wont connect to the internet, so, yeah. But I will check if I am getting the server or client version.
