For some reason, my folders keep reverting to icon view. I open a folder, change it to column view, and I close the folder. When I reopen it, it's back in icon view. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Command-J and set the default view for all folders.

Set the folder the way you want it. Then hold down the shift button when you close the window.
