.dmg files do not open

Every time I try to open a .dmg file, the error "Device not configured" pops up after a few minutes of diskimagemounter attempting to mount it. I have repaired permissions on Disk Utilities, but it has no effect. What should I do? Right now I can't find the Tiger install DVDs

Any help would be appreciated!

Hmm...
Well somehow a simple restart fixed the problem.
