Hey guys,
Well I just wanted to know, is downloading Leopard legal? I've been reading some topics around here, and you're making it sound like it is legal.

Here in Switzerland, you are allowed to download music for free, that isn't illegal. The illegal part is putting it UP for download. So I wanted to know if it's the same with Leopard. Can you download it and it's legal, but put it up and it's illegal?

Thanks in advance

I am not an international lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but let me ask you this:
"Did you buy Leopard from Apple?"
If yes, then you're good; if not, then not.

Unless you're downloading it from an ADC account, it is not legal.

It isn't legal and we cannot support software piracy.

However, I find it strange that many people are so hell-bent on installing beta software on their machines. If you are interested in OS X beta seeds, become an ADC member. University students usually pay very little and most universities with a dedicated `Mac department' are ADC Select/Gold members anyway.

I have a feeling most of these people are more interested in novelty than in development.

Yea .. and it is unbelievable that those people who download those pirated BETA software even complain when it crashes their Mac.

I'll mess with beta software now and then, but try to avoid it if it'll replace a current, productive, and stable version. I haven't messed with any beta/pre-release OS X versions since the public beta.

Student ADC memberships don't give you access to betas. They will ship you a copy of the final OS (along with OS X Server and other random stuff) within a couple months of release, though.
