Thing is I feel like the internal hard disks on my MDD are kinda underused… I would like to reinstall 10.4 since it feels slower day after day and I don't think about upgrading to 10.5 just for the sake of it (I highly doubt some of my hardware would get Leopard support), so since I can install either Client or Server Tiger I would like to know if any of them are happier out of the box by getting two or more internal hard disks.

Right now it is like this…
hard disk 'a' - Mac OS, apps, docs…
hard disk 'b' - gets backups…
hard disk 'c' - storage of all trades…

So actually it is like 'a' was the only hard disk really in use by the OS, don't you think so?

It doesn't really make a difference to the system — the whole thing is kept on one disk anyway unless you mess with it post-install. It will definitely be useful with 10.5 and Time Machine, but otherwise, multiple hard disks are only as useful as you can make them.

Ever try a RAID? Stripe two of them and backup on the third. No idea if that's possible, but why not try?

Thanks to both of you. Never tried RAID, I was wondering if RAID capabilities were the same under CLient and Server… -I know there are 3rd party apps (aimed to RAID) but I would try to avoid them.-
