So...

I found out that the Safari 3.0.2 Beta for OSX causes Messenger to crash, whenever you close a conversation.

But that's not the thing that's bugging me, obviously. I looked at the crash report, and at the bottom it says this:

Operating System Information
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4.10 (Build 8R2232)
CPU: Intel Core Duo, Number: 2, Speed: 2147 MHz
gestaltPhysicalRAMSize err = 0, result = 2047 MB
gestaltSystemVersion err = 0, result = 0x1049
Screen: 1440 x 900, depth = 32, ltbr = 0, 0, 900, 1440

The question is, why is the clock speed only at 2.1Ghz, when the processor is clocked at 2.4ghz?

I believe it underclocks the processor when required, to preserve power.
we don't have time to stop for gas
