Moving files from one hard drive to another...is there a way I can have OS X *not* keep the file on the original drive? I know you can't cut files but is there any way of doing this? How else do you keep track of what files you've moved and which you haven't?

Hold down the command key (Apple key) while dragging the object. This will toggle to "move" instead of "copy".

Holding down the Option key (Alt key) while dragging WITHIN a volume will toggle to "copy" instead of "move".
