Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. It seems that the startup sound has suddenly got quieter sometime over the last few days or so, As far as I know there is no way to adjust this (without third party apps) so I'm a little confused. Not that I'm complaining, its a good thing IMO.

Thats odd I dont notice any differences, maybe you installed some other programs which changed the startup chime.

There are third party apps to change or mute the startup chime.

I know that if I have muted the volume before a reboot, my chime doesn't sound. Maybe you had your system volume down low just before a reboot...
