Hey everyone,

I am in the process of trying to install a classic program (MATLAB 5.2) on my mac G4 running OS X 10.4.10. When I try to install, I get the error that there is not enough disk space to install the program, even though my HD has 111GB of free space. I have no problems with classic in general, so I dont think it is a problem with classic per se. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Probably because it's so old it wasn't properly programmed to deal with that much disk space. I've seen that in the past with really old programs. Don't remember what the solution is other than installing it on a smaller disk.

You could try creating a r/w disk image and installing it onto that, if the installer will allow you to install onto a non-system disk. If it does, you can copy the app to your hard drive when it's done and try running it from there. If it works, delete the disk image.
