I just got a Macbook Pro two days ago and this is my first Mac so I'm new to it
I have a problem with the right-clicking, when I go to Macintosh HD then right-click on the folders or anywhere inside the box that contains the folders the Macintosh HD window just closes and I also see the icon on the desktop disappear for a while and then reappear again. This doesn't happen though when I go into Macintosh HD then left-click on the title bar first then right-click on a folder.
Also, I noticed that when I right-click multiple times anywhere on the desktop this also happens. The icons disappear then reappear again and if there was an active window it would also disappear and not reappear again. I also noticed that it's always the 6th right-click that does this. I don't know if this is related to the problem though.
Can you guys help me out?
Thanks.

You'll see I posted a similar issue - right clicking was freezing everything which is what your 'answer' link says that the problem is. I have installed their plug in but it was a fix for the lastest upgrade of stuffit, which strangely I did not have. I just upgraded and installed the plug in..Mail is still hanging on right clicking!!

Did you restart yet? The old version will not unload, and the newer version load, until you have logged out of your account. FWIW, if you don't even use the contextual menu item from Stuffit, just delete it from ~/Library/Contextual Menu Items altogether. While you are looking there (and the /Library equivalent), is there anything else installed that could also be a potential cause of the problem?

Fair enough. Cust curious though... does anyone still distribute files in .hqx or .sit format? I'm presuming these are old files? But maybe I'm out of the loop and there are still a lot of people sharing files in these format?
