Last week I ordered sheet music froma web site that allows you to preview sound, keys, etc. first. I had to install a Scorch plug-in, but everything worked just great. Yesterday, I went on the site again -- and now, I can't get the sound to play. In fact, for a while I was getting error notices, such as "can't find the output device" or "can't load the soundset General MIDI. Subsituting instead." After a restart, the error notices went away, but I still cannot make the music play, so to speak. (I can't in Firefox, either). Interestingly, I did try on a different account name -- and that works just fine. And I have system sound, as well -- in other words, there's sound coming from the computer (a brand-new imac). I have been in contact with the support staff, which just suggested reinstalling Scorch, which I did to no avail.
The only thing I can think of that's different (besides two power outages during storms last week) was installing a new printer. But I sure can't think how that would affect the sound on this particular web site. And again, the site works on a different account, just not my main one.
Any thoughts? This is driving me crazy.
