iMac G3, OS 10.3.9

Never had this before.

Moving an item to trash, then "empty trash" cause the iMac to show the ...you need to restart your computer, power overload grey box display..

(Only happened before when running several USB items off un-powered USB 4 way, no probs since moving Mouse to USB 4 way.

It is an old .mov file, that must now be corrupt because it won't play (in QT), around 970kb
I've tried re-naming it, no good.

I've tried iClean, iEmpty, secure trash etc...shut down/restart warning every time.

All other items will depart from "Empty trash" as normal, when deleted separately.

Any help appreciated, thanks

Probably directory damage. Reboot from the Install disk, and jump to Disk Utility from the menus. Scan the internal HD and fix it if you can.

Brilliant, that did it.

OS9 re-boot, drag to trash, empty trash, NO problems.

Re-boot OSX item disappeared, & not in trash, thanks

I've also been advised to run disk utility to check OSX Unix compatibility now...
