I have a hard drive that seems completely dead. Only the folder with a question mark shows up when the computer is started.

I tried reseting the NRAM, PRAM, PMU. I tried booting from the Tiger DVD disk. It doesn't work. I tried using Firewire target disk mode but the HD won't even show up. I tried DiskWarrior but the HD won't show up there either.

Is it completely gone? Is there any options left?

Sounds pretty dead. Freezer bag trick?

If you can't boot from the hard drive, the install disk, or target disk mode, then there is something broken on the logic board (mother board). Your hard drive might be OK if it were in an operational computer.

I think he means he can boot from the other devices but that the drive does not appear when he does.

Yes. Well I guess it goes to the Apple store to get a new hard drive, but the data will be lost.
