Finder icon flashing on startup?

When I start my PB 1.67 15", for about a second before OSX boots, I see a small finder icon in the middle of the screen flash. It never used to do this, and I think it might have to do with using Super Dooper to make a bootable drive?
OSX boots normally, but I am a little concerned - any ideas?
Thanks!

Try selecting your boot drive in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences. If that doesn't help, there could be something wrong with the volume.

Thanks - I'll try that - it's possible I set an external volume as my startup disc.
