My iMac has stopped sharing with my AppleTalk network, and I can't get it to start up.

After restarting the machine, I went to preferences to turn on Personal File Sharing. The message, "File Sharing starting up..." appears to the right, but it never really starts up. The menu selection turns gray and there's a gray check-mark in the box next to it, but it cannot be selected to turn off or on (not that toggling it back and forth would help).

I get the following messages in the Console when I turn it on:
2007-09-20 12:41:13.529 System Preferences[263] *** -[NSBundle load]: Error loading code /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm/Ecamm Plugin Loader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Ecamm Plugin Loader for bundle /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm/Ecamm Plugin Loader.bundle, error code 2 (link edit error code 0, error number 0 ())
2007-09-20 12:41:13.531 System Preferences[263] *** -[NSBundle load]: Error loading code /Library/InputManagers/MagicMenuEnabler/MagicMenuEnabler.bundle/Contents/MacOS/MagicMenuEnabler for bundle /Library/InputManagers/MagicMenuEnabler/MagicMenuEnabler.bundle, error code 2 (link edit error code 0, error number 0 ())
2007-09-20 12:41:13.534 System Preferences[263] Can't open input server /Library/InputManagers/Menu Extra Enabler

I am running OS 10.4.10.

I found and read through a thread where someone had a similar problem with PWS. I don't seem to have it with any of the other services, other than the PFS. The thread was interesting, but way beyond me technically, and anyway this looks like it might be a different problem. I've noticed the "Menu Extra Enabler" has been popping up in the console a lot but don't know what it is or what to do to fix it.

I'm hoping someone here might be able to spot the problem and help me work through a solution. It's really a pain that I can't access my desktop file system from my laptop.

Thanks!

New information: I realized these messages were related to opening the Systems Preferences dialog, and not to the attempt to turn File Sharing on.

So now I still have the same problem with being unable to turn File Sharing on, but there are no messages in the Console about it.
