Good evening,
So if I got a copy of the Tiger Operating system, would that work with my mac? If it will work, will it stop it from crashing? Will I have to format the hardrive or will it just work if I put the disc in?
Thanks
Paul

How would we know? You didn't say what Mac model you have.

Is your Mac crashing a lot? Are you still running OS 9 on it? If so, installing OS X would make it stop crashing, assuming you have a machine that can run it and enough RAM. However, if it's crashing under some previous version of OS X, you've most likely got hardware problems that upgrading the OS wouldn't fix.

You don't have to reformat the hard drive as long as you've got enough free space on it to install the OS.

And, just for the record... what is its current format?

You have an old Mac. This is why it can't play video online, and constantly freezes up when you try. Get a new Mac. Tiger won't fix that.
Our G3 iMacs at work have this problem, and my G4 Cube at home has issues too.

Some of us have lives that keep us from living here 24/7... And considering the tone of some of the replies in the first thread, I'm not surprised our new member thought he'd start over...
Eveleigh, if you'll post which Mac you have (they all have model names, and if you can't find that easily, just describe it to us), we'll be much more likely to be able to help you out.
And in spite of the apparent tone of a lot of the replies here, we're really glad you're here. We do get a bit picky about terminology, particularly about "Mac" versus "MAC" because... well it's important.

Maybe you didn't understand my post, but it was not a hit against you or the original poster.

No, it was a hit against Cold Warrior mentioning that two threads weren't necessary.
