Hi! I just purchased a brand new 20" Intel iMac, and while glancing at the Activity Monitor, I noticed I had 3 processes running non-natively (PowerPC), which are owned by root. These are "openinfo", "openmonitor" and "openexec". I searched a bit and it seems they are related to OpenBase, a relational database originating from OpenStep. It's a new computer and I didn't install many apps yet, and since it comes from OpenStep my guess it that it's something that comes with OS X.

I saw many topics concerning OpenBase but I didn't see this issue addressed.. Do you know if it's possible to get an Intel-native version of these processes? I would really like to avoid running Rosetta if possible. Thank you!

None of those programs are part of a normal OS X install. You must have installed a program that uses OpenBase (probably one of the SOHO apps, if I were to guess).

RealBasic (don't know which versions though) also installs these.
But as Chuckit says, these are not part of the standard OSX factory install and either you installed something which included these processes, or you were sold a previously-opened machine.

Try looking for an OpenBase startup script perhaps?
