So I can't install any programs. I know its possible to run the OS X installer from the OS X install disc and reset the password. I didn't have the install discs, so I "acquired" one, if you will...
So I go to run the OS X installer...
AND IT ASKS ME FOR MY PASSWORD!
Whats the point of having an option for reseting your password in the install disc if you need the password to run it?
Or am I doing something wrong?

You booted the machine from your install discs and it wouldn't let you reset the password?

I'm trying that now. First thing I did was just throw the disc in the drive and double clicked on the icon. That didnt work. I'm gonna try botting from the disc now (Got the idea after I posted)

You brought a mac and the person did not do a clean install? That seems.... wrong. they probably have personal info and passwords all in the keychain. ugh. I would do a fresh install if I was you just to clean out the mess.

You probably shouldn't buy a computer from out of the back of some guy's trunk.

True. Taking it right off his desk seemed much less risky.

Actually I traded my old crappy HP notebook for it, so we we're both getting stuff that could've been bad.
Luckily for me I got a ~$1000 Powerbook for a PC I paid $180 for
