This has been bugging me for months: certain List View finder windows (I work mostly in List View) refuse to remember how they last were viewed. Instead they reopen to an arbitray view with several folders' disclosure triangles activated to display long lists of those folder's contents. Deleting the DS_Stores (for the drive itself and the file inside the affected folder) doesn't help.

Any fix? I have Onyx installed if that's any use here.

It's gonna depend on several things, like the permissions on the ds-store itself
and possibly the perms of the parent folder. List view setting are stored in the
parent of the list-viewed folder... not the ds_store in the same folder. Get the
program fseventer and tweak some view options to see what's happening.

One way to ensure settings stick is to close all windows and then recall the one
trouble folder using the Go --> Recent folders submenu. Adjust the view and
close it *without* navigating anywhere else. Recall it again. Did it stick?
