Hi, Looking at 10.5's system requirements, I'm wondering if I can upgrade to 10.5 from 10.3.9 on my iMac G5 with combo drive, not superdrive. I'm not sure if it has a DVD drive which is required to install 10.5. If not, I may have to purchase a separate DVD drive to plug in - right? Thanks.

A combo drive reads DVDs. Did you never watch one?

To clarify Adam's "yes"...

Yes, you can install Leopard with your Combo drive. No, you don't need to get a separate DVD drive.

Well, the first question wasn't really a question in the OP's post. When I first read your response and read the first post, I thought you were answering the latter until I reread it again.

So, don't beat yourself up too hard.

Thanks very much to everybody for clearing this up for me. I asked, because I vaguely remember that you had to order a CD-ROM version of 10.4 for older Macs, so maybe I was a little confused by that. Thanks again.
