If you've bought a qualifying mac, and Apple sends you the $9.95 leopard upgrade, is it just going to be a dvd sleeve with the leopard DVD inside, or is it going to the the whole retail box? I'm sure people know from past experience with the other upgrades to 10.1-10.4

And regardless of the packaging, is it somehow just an "upgrade" disc and different from the actual DVD in the retail box? Does anyone know if and what the actual differences between the two discs are, or are they exactly the same?

Thanks in adavnce.

Just the DVD. It is probably an upgrade, that is, you can only do an upgrade from Tiger. However, we won't know for sure before the 26th or Apple lets us know more.

The upgrade DVD's are not really upgrade only. If nothing has changed since Jaguar, Panther and Tiger then Leopard should be no different. As long as the Leopard upgrade disc SEES Tiger on your Mac you will have access to erase and do a clean install.

So, if you get the Leopard upgrade, you'll have to do a clean install? Meaning all your files will be erased?

No, you can choose upgrade, archive and install or erase and install.
Default option is upgrade.

You just get a DVD with the full version of Leopard on it, same as if you bought the box.
