I have a mac pro with 3.0 gigahertz xeons - 8 gigs of ram. I have been trying to troubleshoot a problem with firefox. It runs so slow that even typing this message, the letters don't keep up with me typing it. I did come across a weird thing. If I disconnect my hard drives (unmount them even) things run MUCH faster. This issue is only with firefox. Everything else runs snappy.

Not sure if this helps, but cnn videos do not work in firefox or safari. Only in firefox if I use user agent switcher and run as netscape under windows. Weird thing is, the same exact mac that I have at home can play videos no problem, but it also runs firefox terribly slow.

Finally, my wife's imac (slower processor) doesnt have any speed issues with firefox or anything else.

Already tried running onyx, checking my apps with it, and all. HELP!
