I'm pretty new to apple so please bear with me.
Everyone here seems to prefer doing a clean install or "archive and install" over just the standard upgrade. I don't have an external hd and don't plan on buying one for at least a couple of months. But I do want my transition to leopard to be as smooth as possible.
My question. Has anyone actually just done the upgrade? What kind of problems can you expect? My macbook is pretty new (I bought it last march), so will it make a difference to just upgrade?
I'm not exactly sure what the archive and install does. Will it automatically transfer all your documents, applications and settings back when it's done? What about things like wi-fi settings and stuff? Or will you have to do it by hand? I don't have all the system disks to all the applications that i have and i don't want to reinstall everything by hand...
If it does all of these things for you then it would seem ideal to just do the archive and install.
any thoughts?
thanks.
