I have read all the different options for upgrading to Leopard.

My MacBook's HD just recently crashed and was replaced by Applecare. So I have a very recent install of Tiger.

Due to my HD crash I booted into Disk Utility and made an exact copy of my HD onto an Exteral Firewire Drive.

Can I format my internal HD and then Migrate my data over from the external as if it was another computer?

I used the Migration Assistant when I upgraded from my iBook to my MacBook and it worked flawlessly.

I just want to do what's best for my computer and what's going to provide me with the best user experience.

Thanks,

Chris

If it is a volume you can boot to from the Option screen when you turn the computer on you should be fine. If its just a folder with your stuff in it you might want to copy things over from the user folder.

From what you describe however you should be just fine. Don't forget the most recent changes you've made since that external copy was created. Those will not go forward less you have re-imaged the external JUST before you install Leopard.
