Hello Everyone!
I have been looking for this on every review but haven't found any sign of it?
Has anyone put it to the test?
Is one of the features that we developers need the most.
It would be great if the Universal Access zoom feature would be helped by this technology as well.

Regards!

Maybe you should look a tiny bit in the forums. We have at least one thread on this already.

No we don't - at least not any current ones.

Basically, resolution independence was a feature that got axed from Leopard. So did a few other things. It happens. It was a bit ironic, since a few forum members were expecting features to get added at the last minute, but it happens. We'll probably see resolution independence in 10.6, or maybe 10.7.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Got pushed back a lot because of all the leopard threads.

So, first and foremost, yes, it is a shame that RI got dropped... sorta. Except it only got dropped from userland. See, developers still have this nifty tool called QuartzDebug, which allows you to set the UserInterfaceScaleFactor. Interestingly, the dock responds to it immediately when it's changed, and other apps respond on launch, as was true in 10.4.

The difference comes in what you see when you blow it up. It's certainly correct that not everything is RI in the GUI, but check this out:

Looks to me like at least some of the UI is now being drawn using vectors, although I guess they could just be scaling it. But some of it is also clearly not...

Anyhow, just thought I'd chime in.
