I just bought the NEW iMAC from JOHN LEWIS with the lasest version on tiger . The sales person said because I bought it at a certian date I could download the lepoard system for a massaive discount from the apple web site however cannot find any sign of this?! can anyone shed any light on this, I am begining to think that was a trick to get me to buy otherwise I would probably waited till it was installed in the NEW computer.

You don't need to download it, that would be insane. You can get a new copy of it directly from Apple. It is called the Up to Date Program. Call Apple, give them the details of your purchase and they should send you a copy of Leopard.

Customers who purchase a qualifying new Macintosh computer or an Apple Certified Refurbished computer from the Apple Online Store on or after October 1, 2007 that does not have Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard included can upgrade to Leopard.
