Why are people insisting on doing the Upgrade option? I find you have far better success with an Archive and Install and spending the odd 30 minutes or so with some post-install housekeeping than you would with an upgrade.

The upgrades worked fine for me, but then again I haven't installed any of the haxies that make upgrades blow up.

I don't do either -- I just back up my Mail, contacts, files, etc. to an external hard drive (or a DVD for those of you without one) and then just do an erase and install.

You could have cut the word count from that post by 75% and just tell us what you don't like, or more specifically what's wrong. My girlfriend's MacBook ran like garbage with 10.4 (768RAM, 1.83) and now runs much smoother with Tiger after an erase and install.

I agree. A clean install of Leopard on my MacBook runs much smoother than Tiger ever did.
