I am having major CPU issues after clean installing Leopard. According to iStat the System is taking up 66% of the CPU, the CPU temp is 84 degrees, my fan is running 6200rpm, and there are major delays when typing this or doing other stuff.

What can I do?

Thanks!

Type top -u in the terminal or open CPU monitor and tell us what app is taking all the CPU. I'm guessing it's spotlight. That would be a process starting with "md"

It seems as though the mounting of my external hard drive was stuck. After I ejected it and killed that process it seems to be somewhat more normal.
