In the past week or so my MacPro has had two kernel panics. The screen goes dark grey and I am told in multiple languagesd to hold down the power button to resart the computer. It is a 2.66ghz with 4GB of Ram from crucial and the stock 1GB from Apple. The extra ram was put in about 5 months ago with no issues since. A couple weeks ago I ordered a USB wireless adapter from macsales.com.

Both KPs seemed to happen when I had tv shows playing online. I think they were both episodes from fox.com, but one might have been from another website. I know that I need to run the hardware test from the disk, but we just recently moved and I will have to go to storage to find the box for the computer. Until then, any ideas?

Find and post a Panic log from the Console utility (/Applications/Utlities/Console)

Sorry, actually had console up and meant to look for that. Just forgot.

In /var/log- crashreprter.log:
Wed Oct 24 09:48:51 2007 crashdump[134]: crashdump invoked as panicdump
Wed Oct 31 13:07:42 2007 crashdump[132]: crashdump invoked as panicdump

This in system.log ( I had just restarted from Boot Camp, hence the clock issues):

Hmm, it might be the USB mouse (USB caused a wake event) , or a networking device.

Btw, what OS do you have? 10.4 or 10.5?
Signature depreciated.

As for USB, there is an Apple ADC to DVI adapter, Tactile Pro Keyboard with attached Mighty Mouse, and the Asus WL-167G USB Wireless adapter connected. I bought the adapter from OWC hoping to get one that would not cause Mac related problems. I cannot recall if the first KP was before the adapter or not, but it was certainly around the time I got it. I was using the internet and had not noticed any problems though. Other than the computer stopping and speaking in foreign languages of course...

That's most likely the cause, then. USB is not a good choice for network peripherals.

Yeah, that bites. It was $30 for this, or $150 for Airport Express to be installed. I don't quite have that right now. Bummer.
