I'm really confused about the Dock Icons, esp. the one for Applications. Under Tiger, I really liked the feature whereby I option-click to get a vertical, alphabetical contextual menu of the contents of that folder (click-and-hold did the same). Now, I click the Applications folder and I get a floating transparent palette (not terribly useful) from which I select Applications again, only to reach another window marked Applications with nothing in it. It's only until I click Applications in the sidebar of that window when I finally see my list of applications!!!
This stinks. Am I missing something? This is no way to work and I'm really getting frustrated.

This sounds a little odd though. Try dragging your /Applications folder directly into the Dock -- it sounds like you might have an alias, or a folder containing an alias, or something like that, in your Dock now.

Yes, thank you -- that improves things. Unfortunately, my complaint on the behavior of the Leopard Dock remains.
