Guys and Gals.

I'm using my Drobo as TM Drive.
It's automatically formatted as a 2TB drive, no matter how many disks you have in there. I have currently 2x 750GB in there, which gives me an effective capacity of 750.

Now, after exactly 5 days of Leopard and TM, the thing is full (give or take 50GB). Drobo tells me that and asks me to insert an additional drive. BUT, OSX thinks there's still some 1.3TB free, because of the 2TB formatting thing. So, TM won't start deleting stuff, although the drive is full. That sucks.

Clearly the rational solution is to buy another pair of 750GB disks.

If you can limit the size of a disk image (dmg) in OS X, you could make one the size you'd like to use for TM and move the TM files in to it.

It's a shame that drobo has to resort to hacks like the 2TB volumes because OSs don't deal better with block devices changing size.

Your rational solution is nailing it, I'd say
Already had 2 more Caviars in the cart at Newegg but took my finger off the trigger again.

I spent so much friggin' money on gadgets over the last couple of weeks, that I have to take a breather

I'll try your suggestion until I have maxed out that Drobo thing.
