First, thanks to those who responded to my previous thread about leopard installation questions.

This might be basic stuff, but here's a couple of things i picked up from the installation.
To install leopard, I chose the archive and install option, despite removing traces of application enhancer. Its the safest install if you want to keep your stuff.

I put the disk in, chose to have the dvd verified, and let it run its course. Towards the end, the estimated time said 'about a minute remaining'. this was way off, it actually took an additional half hour or so, which worried me despite that i had my stuff backed up. However when i checked the installation log, I saw that it was still processing, so i didn't touch a thing (although the thought 'maybe it froze and i should just shut it off' ran through my mind), and it eventually finished.

Moral of the story: do not interrupt the installer at all, and check on the installation log for progress updates, NOT the 'estimated time' and progress bar.

Yeah, I did the same, even staring at the logs for 20 minutes. That was definently a little scary.
