I'd like to install leopard and give my 2006 iMac a fresh start by doing a full erase and install.

How do I preserve iLife 06 as it came pre installed. Will simply copying iDVD (for example) to my external HD work?

Many thanks

Yes, just like all your other applications and documents.

You'll be missing your themes if you do that. Just reinstall it from the DVDs that came with your Mac after you install Leopard.
