This is driving me nuts. I am certain this is not a big problem but for a clueless person, it is flabbergasting!

When I move my mouse or my cursor over any area of the screen, the entire screen moves with it. I have no idea how to turn this off. If anyone could give me a clue, I'd be immensely grateful. I am running Tiger.

Thanks in advance,

faust

Sounds like the Zoom feature (System Preferences -> Universal Access) has been enabled.

Apple-Option-Minus to make sure you're zoomed all the way out. Apple-Option-8 to toggle zoom on/off.

My boss recently had this same thing come up. His little 1 year old daughter was banging on his keyboard and mouse and enabled the Zoom feature. My boss was freakin out, he thought she broke his Mac. I was laughing my ass off when he called me into his office to "fix his Mac". I led him on a bit saying, "woah! i've never seen that before! you're screwed!" It was fun.

Thanks for clarifying, Big Mac. I had feared a simple novice question (and dumb question to some, obviously) would evoke *cool* remarks. A reason why I rarely post here.

If you hold down the control key and scroll using the mouse wheel, you will zoom in and out (default config).

This is very easy to have happen accidentally, but if you know, it's actually a nifty feature.

jmiddel, that is true.

analogika. Yes, it's perfectly fine now that I do know. I was just unnerved as I worked in Photoshop while I obviously hit a wrong combination of keys (not for the first time). My Windows (DiNovo) keyboard is configured wrongly as well and some of the keys are not in their proper position as they would be with a normal Apple friendly keyboard. I need to configure it properly sometime.
