A window pops up from time to time with an exclamation point

192.168.1.100 in use by a bunch of numbers, then it lists the DHCP Server

It means that you have two computers on your network with the same IP address. Are you choosing an address manually, or is it set to use DHCP? (You can find out in the Network pane of System Preferences.)

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.
