This is rather annoying/frusterating.
Am still running OS Tiger.
I am running Safari on a G4 1.67 GHz PowerBook (512 MB DDR SDRAM) and prior to upgrading Safari to 3.0.4 it had full function capability of watching online videos, such as news sites & Youtube. Since the upgrade I have lost the ability to watch videos. What happened? What's the fix here?
Anyone got any ideas about restoring video capability to my PowerBook?
Everything else runs just fine.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

I was just reading another forum article that referred me to a Youtube video - without thinking I accessed it and it ran fine - tried more - they all did.
Sorry, I haven't got a clue as to what happened between last week and a few minutes ago.
... write this off to 'puter gremlins, I suppose.
Thanks for your interest. If the problem's solution reveals itself, I'll post it ... but for the moment ... I can't explain it.

I've had issues similar to that before, but a simple disk permissions repair and reboot has always fixed it.

I'm having the same problem only this is under 10.5.1 (still Safari 3.0.4). Whatever I do, I can not watch any video (MPEG, WMV, Flash) in my account, bu when I log into someone else's account on the same machine I have no problems. I figure I need to delete some preference file somewhere, but does anyone have an idea as to which? I just reinstalled everything a few weeks ago and really don't fancy reconfiguring all my applications all over again.
[EDIT - I mean, good bobdamn... After an hour and a half of chasing my tail, unsuccessfully trying to work out why no video would play in my account, this page tells me to, "...go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them)." And that does it. I have no idea how "Enable plug-ins" got unticked, but now (unsurprisingly enough) everything is good. Again, good bobdamn...]
