"Filesystem verify or repair failed"?

I waas trying to partition my hard drive, and I got an error, so I cerified my disc and got this

Performing live verification.
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Incorrect number of thread records
Incorrect number of thread records

Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired.
Filesystem verify or repair failed.


And there was no option to repair it. WTF do I do?

Boot from the restore disk and open up Disk Utility, in the Utilities menu. Repair the disk from there.

Also, BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA NOW!!! Your HD maybe failing.

I did that. It said the HD was fine. Boot back into Leopard, the partition goes seamlessly.
