I realized that just dragging it to the trash can does really do a clean and complete job. How should I do a clean and complete job? Where do Mac OS usually stores those "invisible" files?

I wish to learn more about it, like, how to do it manually? Where to learn the concept of installation and uninstallation?

Apps are not really 'installed' or 'uninstalled' on the Mac, you usually just grad them to the apps folder to install, and drag to the trash to uninstall. Some programs leave folders elsewhere, generally a spotlight search for the name of the app will find these, and you can drag them to the trash too.

No. Sorry - I didn't, but I should have. For anyone else who is not excited by 'mystery meat links', that is a link to a thorough discussion of this topic, with all you will ever want to know!

I didn't mean you, actually, but yeah, I could have done the explain-thingy.

I've been using AppDelete, which is free, to wipe out the miscellaneous preference files and such that go along with most apps. Seems to work fine and is super easy.
