As the title says, leopard boots quiet slowly and pauses on a blue-screen before showing my desktop. Can someone with some knowledge please check out this log and see if there is anything that looks suspicious!!

Do you have any nonstandard software installed?
Did it do this under 10.4?
What type of Leopard installation did you do -- upgrade, archive-install, or erase-install?

It didn't do it with 10.4 and i did an erase and install as there was a problem with the way that 10.4 had been installed so i couldnt upgrade.

What is classed as non-standard software?

Sorry, I could have picked a better word. I should have said 3rd-party software, like Logitech software/drivers, Norton AV, etc. Software that may hook into your system at some level and have the potential to mess things up.

I think ive got HP print drivers, various bits of software like adium, azurez, office 2004

Surly if anything was causing a problem it would be in the log, right??

MIght be a silly question but what is/are Sharepoints???

It points to your public folder. I'd take everything out of it and see if that helps at all.

the same thing happens to me too: the delay by a blue screen. I also did a fresh install of leopard. I am using 2.0 C2D macbook, 2GB ram, and 80 GB HD. Please help. Thanx.

Only thing in that folder was another folder called Drop Box with nothing in it. I deleted it and the problem remains!

Anymore ideas?

What happens if you create a new user? If you auto-login to it (I assume you auto-login to your current user), is it any faster?

Tried that to no avail... still stalls on a blue screen for about 4 seconds!

I'm not that familiar with my iMac and OS X yet but cna you stop it querying the NTP server (where it gets the current time off the net)?

Under the Date/Time System Preferences, tick the box next to set date & time automatically. Also you can select from 3 different servers.

Four seconds? My MBP C2D 2.16 w/ 2GB RAM, which I consider to run quickly and perfectly well, sits on the blue screen for five seconds. I rebooted just for you to time it, and my machine is only rebooted for long-distance travel or system updates.

I'm going to say this is normal.
